REPORTS

Secretary Report:  Approval of June 10, 2025 Minutes - A motion was made by Barb Haverly to approve these; Colleen DeMuth seconded.  The motion was passed by members and there was one abstention.

Treasurer Report: Emilie Wright (in treasurer Ron Lower's absence) reported as of June 25, 2025, SVP balance was $2,106.20.  There was no activity since June meeting, so $2,106.20 was today's balance. It was agreed by members to keep the amount of $500 payable to St. Mark's Lutheran Church for use of the hall for SVP meetings and workshops.  A motion was made by Emilie Wright to approve the Treasurer Report; and seconded by Emily Davis. The motion was passed unanimously by members.  (Ron will be asked to mark church calendar for SVP upcoming meetings and workshops.)

Historian Report AND CMQHOF:  Kathy Livingston, historian, noted that she had sent an e-mail to SVP members with a link for members to see pictures from the Catskill Mountain Quilters Hall of Fame (CMQHOF) picnic held July 14, 2025 at CD Park.  Numerous SVP members attended.  The SVP raffle basket was won by a member of the Peaceable Day Guild.

Sunshine Committee:  Let Marlene Laraway of any card you think should be sent out.

By-laws Committee:  Emilie Wright reported that the SVP By-laws were redrafted by the committee; the 4 page redraft was handed out by Colleen to members present at today's meeting.  Emilie asked members to please review and if they had any comments, she/committee would like them by October.

Catskill Mountain Quilters Hall of Fame:

Kathy reminded members that Ron Lower IS being inducted into the CMQHOF Sunday, September 21 at the Roxbury Art Center at 2:00 PM.  There will also be a program speaker on civil war fabrics and food for those attending.  Congratulation Ron!

Next CMQHOF fall meeting is October 6; there, new slate of officers are being sought; also looking for a reporter to take pictures. Looking for a new location to display the Hall of Fame plaques.  The CMQHOF quilt show is next year; the raffle quilt is already completed and raffle tickets for it will be sold by each CMQHOF quilt guild.

Empire Quilt Fest (EQF) Representatives: Kathy Livingston spoke about next year's April 25-26, 2026 Empire Quilfest (Revolution in Color) to be held again at the Fulton Montgomery Community College, Johnstown, NY.  Kathy will have applications to fill out for quilt entries.  A Vendor Committee needs to be formed to design and make vendor ribbons, which are given to vendors at quilt show to select their favorite; Kathy said these need to be done by early March 2026.  SVP will have a table set up at show to sell items again.  Another task that needs to be done is for SVP to get 3 local items for each of the 4 baskets which are handed out.

OLD BUSINESS

Review of Schoharie Library Quilt Show:  Kathy Livingston stated pictures are on SVP website to see. Another nice show with matching flower arrangements (by the garden club) to go with quilts displayed.

Old Stone Fort Fall Festival (Sat. Oct 4, 2025):  Kathy Livingston asked that more quilts are need for display (have already have gotten 60); especially smaller ones.  All quilts will be displayed indoors.  Helpers are needed for setting up Friday (Oct 3) and also day of festival.  (Note, helpers get into the event free; otherwise there is a $10 entrance fee to  the festival.)

Result of Treasury Audit:  SVP 2-year audit (July 1, 2023-June 30, 2025) was completed June 30, 2025 by Ruey Schell and Martha Crockett and was sent via e-mail to SVP President Barb Haverly.   Barb discussed some of the report findings and all was good!  Thank you Ruey & Martha!  And to Ron Lower for keeping excellent records!
