Minutes for December 9, 2025

 

The meeting was opened by Diane Warner, SVP President, at 1:00 PM with the first agenda to eat the bountiful buffet but with Ron to say a blesssing first; then proceed with mtg afterwards; mtg started again at 1:45 PM

Members present: 19 Guests: 0

 

REPORTS:

Secretary Report:  Approval of November 11, 2025 Minutes - A motion was made by Emily Davis to approve these; Joan Youman seconded.  The motion was passed by members and one abstained.

Treasurer Report: Ron Lower, Treasurer, reported SVP balance from December was still $2,486.20.  Joan Youman motion to accept; Emily Davis seconded.  All accepted with one abstained.

Historian Report:  Kathy Livingston, historian, stated no updates.

Sunshine Committee:  Marlene Laraway was asked to send Christmas cards to Sandi Johnson & Ida Pomygalski and a Thinking of You card to Sharon Nesbitt.

Empire Quilt Fest (EQF) Representatives:  No news this month.  But Kathy Livingston did mention to members to start putting in their entry along with picture of item (even if unfinished) along with the size.  And if a group category, please note so on entry form (as those will be displayed together).  Vendor Ribbons:  Kathy said no design selected yet.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

By-laws Committee:  The second vote on SVP By-laws was motioned by Joan Youman; all members present agreed; President Diane Warner said the SVP By-laws are PASSED!

Emily Davis had ordered seminole booklets for members; she asked those to please pick them up after meeting is done.

Ron Lower - Blues & greens quilt made for him by daughter; and a strawberry print quilt made by granddaughter for him.

Colleen DeMuth - 2 jean quilts (also w/plaid blocks) made for a friend from her husband's jeans.

Kathy Gorczyca - Star quilt &  another quilt

Kathy Livingston - patriotic panel quilt

Kathy Gorczyca, Betsy Macomber, Kathy Livingston, & Ruey Schell - Round star table topper, group made at a workshop

Sharon Vrooman - small wall hanging with quilt blocks & embroidery blocks

Debie Steup - small wall hanging of tiny pieces (also noted, NY Power Authority Festival of Trees - Dec. 1-30, 2025.  And she checked out  Kostner Kreation quilt shop in Saugerties).  hummingbird & flower wall hanging!

PROGRAM:  A Bingo Quilt Game; hosted by Ron Lower.  A FUN time!

 

MEETING ADJOURNED:  3:05 PM with Diane Warner thanking ALL for the buffet food & for the 34 Pillowcases & 78 Pair Socks!!
