SVP Meeting

December 13, 2022

Minutes for December 13, 2022

Meeting opened by Sharon Vrooman, president at 1:11

We began our holiday meeting with our potluck lunch that included soups and salad and of course many delicious desserts.    

 Members present: 28                     Guests: 2  

Treasurer’s report:                Checking:  $457.46           Savings: $763.09                                                                                                                        Total: $1220.55   

A motion was made by Emily Davis to accept the treasurer’s report and it was seconded by Emilie Wright. The motion was passed by the members.

Secretary's Report:

The minutes of the November meeting were sent to the members. A motion was made by Betsy Macomber to accept the minutes and was seconded by Joan Youmans. The motion was passed by the members with one abstention.

Historian: Stephanie Liddle reported she will update the website with pictures from several meetings soon.

Old Business:   

There is batting upstairs in the church for anyone who is making a charity quilt.

EQF news: The Fulton Montgomery Community College will be booked for the next EQF show in April of 2024. There will be no charge for the use of their building. There will be charges to cover the cost of their staff covering the overnight hours and Friday set up times and show times over the weekend.

Quilt Barn Trail: Ginny Schaum wrote a book about the Quilt Barn Trail.

SVP website: Kathy Livingston said that we are reaching maximum usage            (100 pages) on our site and she will be consolidating the information. The website is due to be renewed on January 3, 2023 for two years at a cost of $285.12 for the website and $24.85 per year for the domain name. A motion was made to renew the website and the domain name for 2 years by Ginny Schaum and seconded by Ida Pomygalski. The motion was passed by the members.

Arlene Vrooman expressed her thanks to the members who gave her fabric to complete some blocks.

New Business:    

Betty Pillsbury is starting an embroidery club at the Middleburgh Library on the first and third Tuesdays from 12-2. Contact her for more information. If the Middleburgh School district is closed there will be no meeting that day.

Betty has a piece in an upcoming show in California to be held on January 18-21 called the “Road to California” at the Ontario Convention Center.

The SVP color challenge for January is to use dark green in your block.

Our next meeting will be on January 10, 2023 and the program is Strip Poker. Please bring 6 strips of fabric 2 ½” by the width of the fabric. The strips can be fabric or a mix of colors and prints.
